Another Proof of Israel's Spying and Terrorism

February 28, 1998 - 0:0
The discloser of a series of disgraceful and botched secret operations of Israel against humanity confirms its political bankruptcy and shortsightedness in its dealings with neighboring countries. The latest discovery on Thursday in Switzerland about Israel spying against the Iranian diplomatic mission inflicted a demoralizing blow on Tel Aviv. On Tuesday Israel's infamous secret agency Mossad's head Danny Yatom had to resign over his agency's unsuccessful attempt on September 25 to poison a Hamas leader in Jordan. Mossad agents were holding faked Canadian passports during their nasty mission.

And last month a Mossad agent was indicted on charges of fabricating reports that Syria was preparing for war. These three inhuman missions are among few examples of Israel's spying and state-sponsored terrorism which were confirmed officially. Israel's 50-year history is full of atrocities and crimes against humanity. It was Israel that did not spare the lives of innocent civilians who had taken refuge in a UN camp in 1996 killing young, old and infants alike.

Now the international public opinion should focuss its attention on the sufferings of the Palestinians and Arabs who are victims of Israeli barbarism. The U.S. Administration and Congress have turned a blind eye toward Israeli barbarism in the Middle East because of a handful, but inconceivably influential Zionist lobby in that country. The United States has a rich and vivid record for democratic and humanitarian values.

But it is now playing in the hands of the Zionist lobby and drawing acid criticism from the oppressed Palestinians and Arabs. The U.S. is supporting Israel at the cost of national interest and prestige. Tel Aviv has a regime that has the least notion of international norms and does not know how to live with the commitments it has made.

The U.S. is making hue and cry about the Iraqi government's non-compliance with UN resolutions passed in 1991. The very same U.S. is mum when Israel does the same of the resolutions passed by the world body in 1967 and 1973. What a pity is it that Israel refuses to comply with its own commitments and deprives the Palestinians and Arabs of their basic rights! But U.S. supports that regime.

U.S. affixes a label of terrorism on those who fight for their genuine but trampled rights.
